DHAKA: At least two persons, including a woman were killed, and 17 others injured on Friday in a bomb blast in the premises of civil court at Ara in India’s Bihar.

Police officials said that a woman, who was killed in the blast, was carrying the crude bomb which suddenly went off inside the court premises killing a policeman and injuring several others.

“Two persons, including a woman and policeman were killed in the blast around 11:30 am. Several others have also been injured and all the top district officials are camping at the blast site”, Gupteshwar Pandey, additional director general of police told The Hindu.

Eyewitnesses said a powerful explosion was heard inside the court campus where a van carrying the prisoners from district jail had reached.

“The investigation is going on and further details are awaited”, said Mr Pandey.
