DHAKA: At least 35 people were killed, 150 injured as two mosques in the Yemeni capital Sanaa have been attacked by suicide bombers during the rush for Friday prayers.
Three blasts were heard in two central mosques used by Houthi Shia Muslims, sources have told Al Jazeera.
A report on a TV channel said the bombers attacked the Badr and al-Hashoosh mosques during midday prayers on Friday.
One witness said he heard two successive blasts at one of the mosques, known as Badr mosque, in a busy neighbourhood in central Sanaa.
The blast comes a day after intense gun battles in the southern city of Aden, between troops loyal to Yemen's former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and current president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi left 13 people dead.
