DHAKA: Egypt is providing political and military support for an operation launched by Saudi Arabia and its Gulf Arab allies against Houthi fighters in Yemen.

The state news agency said on Thursday, reports The Jerusalem Post.

It quoted the foreign ministry as saying coordination was under way with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab countries over preparations in taking part with an Egyptian air, naval and ground force if necessary.
