7.4-magnitude quake hits Nepal

DHAKA: A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

Tremors were also felt across major swathes of north India, including Delhi, at about 12.40pm (local time), reports NDTV.

Early reports suggest a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale with conflicting reports about whether Nepal was the epicentre.

Tremors were also felt in Nepali capital Kathmandu and Zham of China, said the media.

However, Kathmandu was devastated just weeks ago by a massive earthquake in which nearly 7,000 people were killed.

Tremors were also felt across Northern India at the time, with nearly 50 people killed in Bihar.
