DHAKA: Iran’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham has been appointed as the new Iranian ambassador to Malaysia.
She will be first Iranian woman who has been appointed to such as post since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Tehran Times publishes this report on Saturday.
Afkham is replaced by Hossein Jaber Ansari, who was the foreign ministry director general for the Middle East and North African affairs.
She will take office as ambassador in two weeks.
Afkham has been the Iranian foreign ministry spokeswoman for two years.
