KOLKATA: Police arrested two members of militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), in connection with the Burdwan blast in West Bengal last year.
Acting on tip off, they were rounded up from Shipahijala district of Tripura in India Thursday midnight.
Of the arrestees, one was identified as Jahangir Hossain, 32, hailed from Chittagong district in Bangladesh.
Sources concerned said in preliminary interrogation, they admitted their involvement in the blast.
The National Investigation Agency of India is interrogating the detainees, the source added.
On October 2 last year, a blast took place at a house at Khagragarh that left one Sakil Gazi dead on the spot. Another man named Sovan Mandal died of his wounds at a hospital.
The NIA took over the case from the West Bengal police a few days after the explosion when international links started surfacing.
During investigation NIA, some extremists have been arrested from Tripura for their suspected link with the blast.
