DHAKA: A Turkish Airlines flight from New York was diverted to Canada after a bomb threat, Canadian officials say.

According to BBC report, the Turkey-bound flight with 256 people on board landed safely at Halifax International Airport in eastern Canada.

Canadian police are investigating but would not comment on the details of the bomb threat, the Associated Press news agency reported.

The incident comes a week after attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.
