11 missing after coal mine floods

DHAKA:  At least 11 coal miners went missing after the coal mine flooded in northern China on Monday (April 25).

The accident took place in Tongchuan city in Shaanxi province.

A total of 67 workers were in the mine shaft but the rest managed to escape, Xinhua said, citing the Tongchuan city government, reports mailonline.

Rescuers were attempting to find the missing, he added.

China's mines have long been the world's deadliest, but safety improvements have reduced the number of deaths in recent years.
