DHAKA: At least eleven persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Karnataka province of India.
The accident took place at the Koppal area in the state on Monday (April 25) when a local large auto-rickshaw (Tum-tum) carrying passengers collided head-on with a lorry leaving 11 dead on the spot.
Koppal Superintendent of Police (SP) Thyagrajan told that five injured persons, including the cleaner of the lorry, had been admitted to the government hospital here and the condition of a 35-year old woman was stated to be serious, reports indiatoday.in on Tuesday (April 26).
The victims were travelling in the auto-rickshaw, plying from Koppal to Kuknoor, and the lorry was heading here from Hubballi when the mishap occurred.
The lorry driver was running away, the SP said.
