DHAKA: A major fire at an ammunition depot in Pulgaon of Maharashtra in India killed 17 army personnel and injured 19 others on Tuesday (May 31).

Quoting defence sources, news agency PTI published the matter, TOI reports.

Two officers and 15 Defence Security Corps jawans were among those killed in the fire.

The fire broke out at last night at the Central Ammunition Depot at Pulgaon, which is about 110 km from Nagpur.

Citizens of the villages close to the depot have been evacuated for safety.
