DHAKA: A suicide bomber had carried out an attack in front of the United States consulate in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah on Monday morning (July 4). 

However, suspected suicide attacker has been killed after detonating a device near the US consulate.

Two policemen were reportedly injured in the incident, BBC reports on Monday.

The attack came in the early hours of US Independence Day.

The Jeddah consulate was the scene of a militant attack in 2004, which left nine people dead.
