DHAKA: Four people were killed after a shooting at an apartment complex, in Bastrop of Texas.

The Bastrop Police Department said that they received reports of shots being fired at 6:14 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 202 Childers Drive.

Bastrop Police Detective Vicky Steffanic said that one adult male, two adult females and a child were dead at the scene. One child was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The shooter is among the deceased and there is no threat to the public, Detective Steffanic said.

Five people were initially believed to be dead, but BCSO said a fifth fatality is not yet confirmed. 

A joint investigation between the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers is ongoing.
