DHAKA: At least 11 policemen were killed and scores left injured in a car bomb explosion in front of the police headquarters at Cizre of Turkey on Friday morning (August 26).
Quoting Turkey’s state run news-agency Anadolu, BBC reports the matter.
The huge explosion was targeted at a police checkpoint that left the riot police headquarters in wreck.
Prime Minister Binali Yildirim blamed the attack on banned Kurdistan Workers party (PKK) and vowed to retaliate.
Cizre has been subjected to several curfews in last few months by Turkish authorirites fighting PKK.
A string of PKK attackers have been targeting Turkish authority since 2015 after the collapse of ceasefire.
The blast came two days after Turkey tanks entered northern Syria to help rebels eradicate ISIS from border town.
