DHAKA: There has been an explosion close to the Chinese embassy in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek, reports say, but casualties are still unclear.
Details are still emerging but Russia’s Interfax news agency quoted local officials as saying at least one person was killed.
A car rammed the gates of the embassy and exploded in front of the ambassador’s residence, officials say, reports the BBC.
Social media footage showed smoke billowing above the building.
Other images appeared to show broken glass and concrete at the scene.
The local AKIpress news agency quoted the chief of the security at the Chinese embassy as saying no staff there had been injured.
Kyrgyz security officials are at the scene conducting an investigation.
