DHAKA: At least 16 people were killed when a bus fell off a bridge in Angul district of India’s Odisha on Friday (September 9).
Director General of Odisha police K B Singh told NDTV that 4 women were among the 16, more 10 sustained injuries in the accident near Deulijhari area.
The injured were rushed to local health complexes with the help of locals, among them many were in critical condition.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the district administration and police officials to take immediate steps for medical treatment of the injured persons.
Officials also added that the CM declared the medical treatment for the wounded free of cost.
Sing further asserted that the reason behind the accident was under investigation but the driver might have lost control of the vehicle and it flew off the bridge.
