At least six people were killed and over 150 injured as a cargo train collided with a passenger train in Pakistan’s Multan on Wednesday morning (September 15).

Quoting a Multan police officer Dr. Rizwan, Dunya News reports four compartments of the passenger train, Awami Express, were derailed after the accident.

A person was killed under the cargo train making it stop while the passenger train hit it from behind causing the accident.

The injured were taken to local hospitals.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) of Multan said that all those who were stranded inside train were rescued.
