DHAKA: The US people have started casting their votes to elect their new leader – the 45th president. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have to wait for a while to get the historical verdict.
Polls across the nation began at 6:00am (Eastern Time) ET. Clinton, however, wins in tiny Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, country’s first poll that started at midnight.
CNN Poll of Polls shows Clinton leading by four points.
From minimum wage, to weed, to labor laws, voters in states around the country are voting for more than a new president today.
Polls are now open in a number of East Coast states. Hillary Clinton is in a much stronger electoral position than Donald Trump, according to CNN’s latest map.
Clinton also leads Trump 46 percent to 42 percent in the popular vote, according to the latest CNN Poll of Polls.
Americans will cast their verdicts on Clinton and Trump after an exhausting, acrimonious campaign that at times revolted the nation and tore at its fabric.
History will be made no matter how the vote turns out. Clinton would become the first woman to win the presidency in America's 240-year history. A Trump triumph would represent a massive repudiation of the Washington establishment not seen in generations.
Both candidates argue the election presents an unusually significant choice for a divided nation. Democrats warn that Trump, with his rhetoric on race, gender and immigration, would represent a rejection of core American values.
Trump insists his outsider campaign represents America's last chance to drive out a corrupt political establishment that has turned its back on blue-collar workers.
