DHAKA: Shallow undersea quake with magnitude of 5.7 jolted eastern parts of Indonesia on Wednesday (November 30), but no tsunami warning is issued.
the meteorology and geophysics agency said this, reports China’s Xinhua news agency.
The quake struck at 9.42am local time (GMT 0242) with epicentre at 86 km northeast Maluku and depth at 10km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua by phone.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone, so called “the Pacific Ring of Fire.”
