An Egyptian court has ordered the closure of four television channels, including one run by the Muslim Brotherhood, Ahrar 25.

The Egyptian arm of al-Jazeera, Mubashir Misr, is one of those set to be shut down, along with the Islamist channels al-Quds and al-Yarmuk.

Authorities have recently cracked down on media seen as sympathetic to deposed President Mohammed Morsi, and his Muslim Brotherhood.

Mr Morsi is in custody awaiting trial.

Prosecutors announced this week that he will face trial on charges of inciting the murder of protesters last year.

Several Islamist channels, including Ahrar 25, were forced off air soon after Mr Morsi was overthrown by the army on 3 July.

The military-backed authorities have accused al-Jazeera Mubashir Misr of bias over its reporting of Mr Morsi`s ousting.

On Monday, Egypt expelled three foreign journalists working for al-Jazeera`s English language channel, saying they did not have correct press accreditation.
