NEWYORK: Bangladesh will be placed as a role model at the General Assembly of United Nation for achieving Millennium Development Goal (MDG).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will deliver her speech to unveil success stories of Bangladesh to the rest of the world.
Hasina will fly to New York on September 23 to attend the general assembly.
Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Dr AK Abdul Momen came up with the disclosure in a press conference on Saturday.
He said that around one and half decade ago world’s leaders fixed the target of MDG for many countries of the world.
Bangladesh has reached to its goal in various sectors before the deadline.
To highlight the achievements of the country, the premier will represent the story behind this and the countries which failed to achieve the goal will follow Bangladesh as a role model, Dr AK Momen added.
Besides, the success and failure of MDG and how the world will run in next 15-20 years will be the main topics of the assembly.
Dr Momen said the main slogan for this assembly is “Post 2015 Agenda: Setting The Stage For Future.”
The world leaders will work to make it possible.
