Sudan says 29 people killed in riots

DHAKA: A total of 29 people have been killed in anti-government protests in Sudan.

Sudan state news agency SUNA said on Thursday, in the first official toll since the outbreak of violence on Monday, reports The Jerusalem Post.

The death toll included civilians and police officers, police said in a statement carried by SUNA.

Activists put the number of dead much higher and it was impossible to verify claims from either side.
