DHAKA: Nur Hossain, one of the death-raw convicts in the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case, filed an appeal petition with the appellate division of Supreme Court.
His lawyer H.R.M Lutfur Rahman Akando made the development on Sunday (March 3).
A Narayanganj court awarded death penalty to 26 accused, including Nur Hossain, in the case on 16 January 2017.
Later, the High Court upheld death penalty for 15 out of 26 death-row convicts, commuting penalty for 11 others to life-term in jail in the case.
On November 19 of 2019, the full text of the HC verdict that upheld death sentence for 15 people was published on the Supreme Court website.
Seven people, including Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker, were abducted from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27, 2014.
Later, their bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.
