DHAKA: A Dhaka court fixed Apr 8 for next deposition in sensational Raintree Hotel rape case.

Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 Judge Md Khadem Ul Kayes set the date, following a plea from the state on Monday (Mar 18).

Monday was earlier set for the deposition but the witness didn’t appear before the court. 

The same court on Feb 13 sent prime accused Shafat Ahmed to jail after cancelling his bail.  

Bail plea of another accused Shafat’s friend Nayeem Ashraf alias Abdul Halim, who is now behind bars, was also rejected.

Two girls were sexually attacked and filmed after they were invited to a birthday party at the Raintree Hotel in Banani of Dhaka on Mar 28, 2017.

‪The girls accused Shafat and Nayeem of locking up them in a room and raping overnight.

On May 6, one of the victims filed a case with Banani Police Station accusing fiver persons including Shafat Ahmed.
