KUSHTIA: A court here convicted seven people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a man in Mirpur upazila in 2010.

Judge Arup Kumar Goswami of District and Sessions Judge Court on Tuesday (May 7) passed the order.

According to the prosecution, Dablu was murdered by a group of miscreants following previous enmity over establishing supremacy in local business in the upazila on June 7, 2010.

Later on June 7, victim’s brother filed a case was filed with Mirpur Police Station accusing eight people in this connection. 

After examining the records and depositions of witnesses, the court handed down the verdict in presence of the convicts.

But name of Israt Biswas, one of the accused, had been axed from the case as he died during the legal procedure. 

Public prosecutor (PP) of Kushtia court advocate Anup Kumar Nandi confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
