BAGERHAT: Two youths were sentenced to life in prison by a district court for gang raping a teenager and uploading video of the incident on the internet.  

On Sunday (July 7), Judge SM Saiful Islam of Bagerhat Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 also fined them Taka one lakh each; otherwise one year of punishment will be applicable. 

Under the pornography law, two of them were sentenced to seven years in prison. In default, one lakh Taka will be fined.

The convicts were-Abdur Rahim Molla, 23, son of Mohsin Molla, of Borogawla village under Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat district and Jahidul Shikder, 22, son of late Abu Bakkar Shikder of the same area.

According to case statement, Rahim and Zahidul raped a 15-year-old teenager in her room at Borogawla village in the afternoon of 23 June of 2017. Both of them filmed the incident.

Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Public Prosecutor (PP) of the court, moved for the state while Shahidul Islam Biplob stood for the convicts.
