DHAKA: A case has been filed over Saturday night's crude bomb attack on the security protocol of LGRD Minister Tajul Islam in Science Lab Intersection of Dhaka.

New Market Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Jahirul Islam, as a plaintiff, filed the case under Explosives Act.

New Market Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Sher Alam confirmed the matter to Banglanews Sunday (September 1).

SI Md Alamgir of the same police station has been given the charge of running investigation in the case.

A security detail of LGRD Minister Tajul Islam also an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a traffic constable were injured when miscreants hurled a crude bomb in Science Lab Intersection of Mirpur Road around 9:15pm Saturday (August 31).

Tajul Islam's vehicle got stuck in traffic congestion in Science Lab area on way home from a personal program of the minister.

ASI Shahabuddin, a detail of the minister's security team, got down from vehicle and was trying to ease the jam by joint efforts with traffic constable Aminul. 

Then the blast took place in front of a police box, leaving Shahabuddin and Aminul injured. 

They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
