SYLHET: A charge-sheet was submitted against three persons in the case over explosions during an anti-militancy drive conducted in Shibbari under Dakkhin Surma upazila of Sylhet in March 2017.

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector also probe officer of the case Abul Hossain submitted the charge-sheet at Sylhet Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday (September 7).    

The three accused are-- Arzina, 19, her husband Jahurul Huq alias Jashim, 25 and Hasan, 26.

Abul Hossain told Banglanews that names of five others accused who died in the explosion have been excluded from the charge-sheet.  

Sixty types of evidences were mentioned in the 534-page charge-sheet, he said.

The accused have been identified as members of banned militant outfit Neo-JMB.

Huge trade fire and explosions took place during the drive codenamed "Operation Twilight" carried out in the militant hideout Atia Mahal on March 24, 2017 that killed 11 persons including four militants and RAB detective unit chief Lt Col Abul Kalam Azad, police inspectors Monirul Islam and Abu Kawsar.

The operation came to an end after five days.
