KHULNA: Seven policemen, including two Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna district police, have been suspended on charges of extortion and financial irregularities.

An allegation, of financial transaction occurred at Chuknagar of Dumuria upazila of Khulna, came against seven policemen, Khulna District Superintendent of Police (SP) SM Shafiullah told banglanews on Tuesday (October 1).

Since we maintain zero tolerance against financial transaction, SI Hasan and Lutfur and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Saiduzzaman and four other police members were suspended temporarily on Monday (September 30), SM Shafiullah said.

Investigation will be launched to figure out who is involved and who is not, SM Shafiullah also said.
