DHAKA: A Dhaka Metropolitan court placed seven bodyguards of SM Golam Kibria Shamim on three days of remand in a case filed under arms control act with Gulshan police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Md. Mainul Islam granted three days of remand after Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3)’s sub inspector investigation officer of the case Shekhor Chandro Mallik had stood before the court with a 7-day prayer on Sunday (October 6).
The seven bodyguards are-- Md Delwar Hossain, Md Murad Hossain, Md Jahidul Islam, Md Shahidul Islam, Md Kamal Hossain, Md Samsad Hossaim and Md Aminul Islam.
On October 1, Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury placed the seven bodyguards on four days of remand in a money laundering case filed with Gulshan police station.
Earlier on September 29, Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Md. Atiqul Islam rejected bail plea of the seven bodyguards in a case filed under arms control act.
Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Habibur Rahman Chowdhury sent them to jail on September 26.
Rapid Action Battalion detained Jubo League central committee leader SM Golam Kibria Shamim on September 20.
RAB seized huge amount of money, foreign currency, a firearm, drugs, liquor, and FDR cheque worth Taka 200 crore from his office in Niketan area of the capital on Friday afternoon.
