RAJSHAHI: Police arrested three youths for demanding extortion after forcing a youth to make an obscene scene with a young girl and filming it in Putia upazila of the district.

The arrest was made on Sunday morning (October 6).

The arrestees were—Rakibul Hasan Rocky, son of Aiyub Ali, hailing from Putia upazila, Aminul Islam Tonmoy, son of Sohrab Hossen and SM Hasibul Hasan, son of Sirajul Islam.

According to Rajshahi Superintend of Police (SP) Md. Shahidullah, Rocky, Tanmoy, and Hasibul beat a man namely Shamim and his friend randomly. Later, they took Shamim to a nearby abandoned building. They forced Shamim to make an obscene scene with a young girl detained there and filmed it. After filming the scene, they demanded Taka 20,000 from Shamim. Otherwise, they threatened to disclose the video to police and his family. Shamim somehow managed to flee from there and reached Putia Police Station and filed a complaint. Afterwards, police arrested the trio.
