FARIDPUR:  A district court gave death penalty to four persons for killing a grocer in Bhanga upazila of the district in 2017.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Kamrunnahar Begum handed down the verdict in presence of the three convicts on Sunday (October 20).

The convicts were--Swapan Munshi, 26, hailing from Chowdhury Kanda Sadardi Mohalla of the Bhanga municipality, Nahid Sheikh, 28, Ainal Sheikh, 26. The absconding convict was- Almin Sheikh, 20—from the same area.

According to acting public prosecutor MA Salam, the convicts killed grocer Bikash Saha around 9:30 pm on March 30 of 2017. The following day, Uttam Kumar Saha, brother of the deceased, filed a case with Bhanga police station.
