DHAKA: The High Court issued a rule asking why the dismissal of Prirojpur District and Sessions Judge Md Abdul Mannan and add him to the law ministry shouldn’t be declared out of legal authority.
The HC bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir issued the rule on Wednesday (March 4) voluntarily after coming across a report in news media.
The secretary and deputy secretary of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs have been asked to respond to the rule within two weeks.
Earlier on Tuesday (March 3), the court of Prirojpur District and Sessions Judge Md Abdul Mannan ordered the authorities to send former Awami League president and lawmaker of Prirojpur-1 AKMA Awal and his wife Laila Parvin to jail after rejecting bail in corruption cases filed by Anti-Corruption.
Later, he was dismissed by an order of the Law Ministry and Joint District and Sessions Judge of Prirojpur Nahid Nasrin was given the responsibility of acting judge of Pirojpur.
