The Look: Textured top knot

The Tip:

1. Apply a lightweight hair oil to damp hair to add softness and shine without weighing it down.

2. Blow dry large sections of your hair using a large round brush, directing your hair away from your face. When styling a ponytail or bun, you should blow dry your hair towards the center point of where the hair will be put up, and use a straightening iron on medium heat to smooth any cowlicks or kinks around the hairline.

3. Brush your hair upwards towards the top of your head. Spray hairspray such as Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray directly onto the brush to smooth flyaways.

Flip your head over and gather your hair on top of your head and secure with an elastic. 

4. To add texture to your bun, back comb the ponytail with a brush and spray with hairspray. Finally, twist and wrap the hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins.

You can pull out small pieces of hair with your fingertips or a rattail comb for an edgy, undone look.
