Create a container garden in your home

Map the area where you want to make the garden
Since this type of a garden can make your home look cluttered, always select one specific area in your house where you would like to have it. This can be a space, either in your living area, your balcony or a place in your dining room.

Go for plants that can sustain for a long duration
Mostly built indoors, choose plants that can survive with minimum or no sunlight for days at end. However, you must remember to water them from time to time, so that they remain fresh.

Go for bright blooms
Instead of going in only for green plants, you can also opt for flowers in bright colours — marigolds, lilies, etc are good options. They not only add to the beauty of the room, but also lend a calming effect. Make sure you choose flowering plants that are not seasonal.

Do not opt for too many planters
Build the garden in such a way that it does not overpower your room. Since you also have to maintain uniformity, having about three to four planters placed side by side will make the garden look complete. This will also lend a neat look to your room and the plants will have enough breathing space.

Place them on faux grass
To give the garden a more authentic look, you can have the planters placed on fake grass. If you are planning to do this in your bedroom, make sure that you choose an area (possibly near the windows, so that your plants can get sunlight). You can alternatively also use pebbles for non-flowering plants that need less water to keep them clean.
