LAXMIPUR: At least 30 shops were burnt to ashes in a devastating fire, broke out in Torabganj Bazaar under Komol Nagar upazila of the district early Monday.

Sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at around 1:00am.

Later, two units of Ramgati and Laxmipur fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after frantic trying for one and a half hour.

The traders claimed fire damaged wealth worth Tk 3 crore.

Station Officer of Laxmipur Fire Service Sultan Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews24.com.
