A fire that broke out at Rohingya camps in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar on Sunday (Mar 5) afternoon has been brought under control after three hours.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station Sheikh Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.
He said the fire originated in a house of Block-B at Camp-11 at Balukhali this afternoon. The fire was doused around 5:15 pm.
The estimated extent of the damage caused by the fire could not be known immediately, he said, adding that a team is working on it.
Earlier, a massive fire broke out at the Rohingya camp on March 22, 2021. Eleven people died and 500 injured and 9,000 shanties gutted during the incident.
