A youth was allegedly stabbed to death by robbers in a house at Salna Mollah Para in Gazipur city on Monday (Mar 13).

The deceased was identified as Mahius Sunan Chowdhury, 18, son of AKM Jalal Uddin Chowdhury of Salna Mollapara area of Gazipur City Corporation.

According to information, a group of robbers entered Sunan's house by cutting the window grill around 3:00 am, and entered his room. Later, they tied him up and looted gold ornaments and cash from the house after stabbing him with a sharp weapon.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sadar Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan Bayezid confirmed the matter.

He said police were sent after receiving information regarding the incident.

Legal action will be taken after receiving a complaint, the SI added.
