A biker and his pillion rider were killed when a bus hit their motorcycle in Baniachara area of Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria upazila this (March 15) morning.

The accident took place on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway around 9am. 

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ismail Siddiki and Arman Shakil, residents of Bandarban’s Lama upazila’s Faitong area.

Emon Chowdhury, inspector of Chiringa Highway police station confirmed the matter. 

He said a Cox’s Bazar-bound bus of Greenline Paribahan hit the motorcycle leaving the two dead on the spot.

Police seized the bus and bike, he said, adding legal proceedings were underway.
