One person was killed and at least nine others were injured as a fire that broke out after an explosion at a two-storey building in Nitaiganj area of Narayanganj on Saturday (Mar 18). 

The deceased was identified as Awlad Hossain while the injured are - Hossain, Rajon, Robi, Hazrat, Jahangir, Sentu, Billal, Nahid and Jamal Deowan.

Fakhruddin Ahmed, assistant deputy director of Narayanganj district of fire service confirmed the matter.
 
He said, the firefighters doused the blaze around 10.25 am. 

The explosion damaged partially the northern part of the building, he said.

The condition of those fire-victims is critical, said Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp-in-charge Bacchu Miah.
