Interpol accepts red notice against Arav Khan: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdullah Al Mamun today (Mar 20) said that a red notice sent against fugitive accused Arav Khan has been accepted by the Interpol.

He was replying to a question from journalists after inaugurating Enayet Bazar Police Outpost under Kotwali Police Station of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

IGP said that a letter has been sent to Interpol to issue a red notice against the name which is mentioned in the charge sheet in a case filed over murder of a Bangladesh police official.

A little while ago, I received the news that Interpol has accepted it, he added.

Earlier on April 11, 2019, Detective Branch of police pressed charges against Arav Khan, whose real name is Rabiul Islam alias Apon alias Shohag alias Hridoy and nine others in the murder case of Md Mamun Emran Khan, the then inspector of special branch of police.

Earlier on March 18, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that Bangladesh Police have sent a letter to Interpol to bring back Arav Khan, who is a fugitive accused in a murder case of a police inspector.

After the murder, Arav allegedly fled to India and secured an Indian passport under the name of Arav Khan, and went to Dubai.
