Bashundhara Foundation distributes Qurans in Brahmanbaria

Bashundhara Foundation, a charitable concern of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, has distributed holy Qurans among 6,000 students in Brahmanbaria.

Hailing from 39 educational institutions including 21 high schools, 10 madrasas and eight colleges received the Qurans.

 The Quran distribution programme was held at Anwarul Islam Auditorium in Bancharampur upazila on Tuesday.

Kaler Kantho Editor-in-Chief Imdadul Haq Milan attended the programme as the chief guest while Shah Rahat Ali High School headmaster Abdul Karim presided over it.

Terming Quran the best book of the world, Kaler Kantho Editor-in-Chief Imdadul Haq Milan suggested the Muslim students to read Quran alongside academic studies to be a good human being.

“March is the month of independence of the country. You (students) will have to be patriotic serving the nation and protecting sovereignty,” he added.

Bashundhara Group’s Adviser and East West Media Group Ltd (EWMGL) Publisher Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, DGM of Bashundhara Foundation Md Maymun Kabir, Kaler Kantho’s social organisation Shuvo Sangha director Zakaria Zaman, head of accounting department of Bancharampur Govt College Md Chan Miah Sarker, Bashundhara Foundation manager Md Mosharraf Hossain were present.

Bashundhara Foundation is also running interest-free loan schemes for economic emancipation of the downtrodden people in Bancharampur and other places.

The largest corporate house is also engaged in distributing relief among poor in various parts of the country in natural calamity, blankets among cold-hit people, creating employment to poor, extending financial supports to the insolvent students, visions to the vulnerable ophthalmic patients and homes to the landless.
