Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a top leader of the banned militant group Hizbut Tahrir from Hazaribag area of old Dhaka on Saturday (April 8) afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Talat Mahmud Sayen, and he was sentenced to two years' imprisonment in a case.
RAB-2 captain (CO) Additional DIG Md. Anwar Hossain Khan confirmed the matter to Banglanews today (April 9).
Three books, 23 anti-government leaflets, a computer, and two mobile phone sets were recovered from his possession, DIG Anwar added.
