KUSHTIA: Some three platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were deployed in the district on Monday night apprehending violence centering the announcement of the schedule of the 10th parliamentary polls.

Deputy Commander of 32 BGB Battalion of Kushtia sector Major Tarek Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.

As per requisition of district and police administration, BGB personnel were deployed to save the lives and properties of the people and to maintain the law and order situation in the district stable, he added.

Major Tarek Mahmud also said that patrolling has been beefed up in the Kushtia Islami University area.
