A court in Dhaka Tuesday (April 18) fined former Chairman of Farmers Bank’s Audit Committee Mahbubul Haque Chisty alias Babul Chisty and two others Tk20 lakh in a graft case.

Babul Chisty was fined Tk924,673, the bank’s former director CEO AKM Shamim was fined Tk560,202 and former EVP and head of IT Shah Azam Tk574,268.

Judge Iqbal Hossain of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-5 also ordered them to pay the amount within the next 60 days.

Babul Chishti and KM Shamim were produced before the court while verdict was announced. After the verdict, they were sent back to prison. 

However, another accused Shah Azam is on bail.

Acting Bench Assistant Sohanur Rahman Sohan confirmed the matter.
