Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated across the country on Saturday (April 22) as Shawal moon was sighted this evening.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Moon Sighting Committee at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Friday (April 21) evening.
The meeting was presided over by State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan.
Islamic Foundation said there will be five jamaats (congregations) at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The congregations will be held in phases from 7am.
The first Eid jamaat will be held at 7am while the next four Jamaats will be held at 8am, 9am, 10am and 10.45am respectively.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today, as the Shawwal moon was sighted on Thursday.
