2 robbers lynched in Comilla

COMILLA: Two robbers were killed and three others injured as angry mob beat them in two different villages under Barua Upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Baten, 29, son of Fazar Ali from Chandina Upazila and Abdul Motaleb, 25, son of Abdur Rashid, hailed from Barua Upazila of the district.

Local sources said that a gang of robbers were taking preparations for robbery in the Kalakhal village of Poyalgachha union in the upazila.

Sensing the matter, villagers chased the gang and beat a robber to death while others managed to flee. A villager was injured by the weapon of robbers.

Villagers also set fire to a pick-up used by the robbers.

Meanwhile, dwellers of Dheuatali village of Jhalam union of the upazila seized three dacoits and beat them up, leaving one of the robbers dead on the spot and two others injured.

Officer-in-Charge of Barua Thana AKM Kausar Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.
