Gayeshwar among 16 BNP men get bail in Science Lab violence case

The High Court (May 25) today (May 25) granted six weeks' anticipatory bail to 16 BNP leaders, including its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, in two cases.

The HC bench consists of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md. Aminul Islam passed the orders following two petitions filed by the BNP men.

The HC also ordered the BNP leaders to surrender before the lower court concerned in six weeks.

Earlier, the cases were filed with New Market and Dhanmondi police stations on May 24 in connection with attacking law enforcers, preventing them from discharging their duties, vandalism, and violence during the road march of the BNP in Science Lab area on May 23.

International Affairs Secretary Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim, Dhaka North City BNP Convener Abdus Salam, Gazipur District President Fazlul Haque Milan and Jubo Dal President Sultan Salauddin Tuku are the leaders among others who got bail.
