Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted a severe heat wave is sweeping over the country and it may continue, said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today (June 2).

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of light rain/thundershowers at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, it added.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded as 41.0 degree Celsius at Dinajpur while the lowest temperature today was recorded as 23.7 degree Celsius at Dimla under the Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6.42 pm today and rises at 5.11 am tomorrow in the capital.
