e-passport service launched in Bangladesh High Commission in Australia

e-passport service has been launched by Bangladesh High Commission in Australia on Saturday (June 3). 

M Allama Siddiqui, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Australia, launched the e-passport service.

Md Nurul Anwar, Director General of Department of Immigration and Passports, was present as a special guest on the occasion.

During the launching of the e-passport, Allama Siddiqui Bangabandhu’s handprint is in all the development and good works of Bangladesh and the development program of Bangladesh is progressing under the efficient leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

As e-passport uses the modern technology, it will increase its credibility and acceptance as well as the value and status of Bangladeshi passport in abroad.

He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for promoting Bangladesh passport as the first-class passport across the globe.

Remembering Bangabandhu and his martyred family members, Md Nurul Anwar said under this initiative, the process of immigration and passport for Bangladeshi expats have been easier and secured.

Earlier, Machine Readable Passport (MRP) was being used in Bangladesh High Commission in Australia. Information about e-passport will be available on Bangladesh High Commission website soon.
