COMILLA: Indefinite hartal in Laksham and Monohorgonj upazila is underway, demanding the trace and release of former MP of Comilla-9 Saiful Islam Hiru, also president of Laksham Upazila BNP and president of Laksham municipality BNP Humayun Kabir Parvez.

The BNP leaders and activists staged procession in both the upazilas in the morning in this regard.

Former MP of Comilla-9 constituency Anwarul Azim alleged that RAB-11 personnel nabbed Saiful Islam Hiru and Humayun Kabir Parvez on November 27.

Denying the allegation, RAB-11 commander Major Shahed said they know nothing about the incident.

Senior vice-president of district BNP Colonel (Retd) M Anwarul Azim, also former MP of Comilla-9, announced the programme of indefinite hartal in Laksham and Monohorgonj upazila of the district on Sunday night.
